Todd Robinson - Director/Writer

For Hollywood Pictures Todd Robinson wrote and co-produced WHITE SQUALL, starring Jeff Bridges, working closely with director Ridley Scott. His screenplay won the 1996 WORLDFEST Special Jury Grand Prize for Best Screenplay. He also wrote and co-produced THE FOUR DIAMONDS for Disney, directed by Peter Werner, starring Christine Lahti and Jane Brooke for Disney. At present, his film MERMAID is in production in Vancouver, helmed by Peter Masterson, with Ellen Burstyn and Samantha Mathis starring. He is currently at work on THAT OTHER’S MAY LIVE for Wolfgang Peterson and Warner Brothers.

Robinson wrote, directed and produced THE LEGEND BILLY THE KID for the Disney Channel, for which he won a 1994 PRIME TIME EMMY AWARD. Robinson directed the award winning dramatic short subject film ANGEL FIRE which was featured in international film festivals and wrote and directed WILD BILL - HOLLYWOOD MAVERICK, a feature documentary film on legendary studio director William A. Wellman. The film was awarded "Best Documentary Film of 1996" by the National Board of Review and was featured at Sundance, London, Berlin, San Sabastian and many other festivals. The film can be seen through 2004 on AMC.

In 1998 Robinson directed the documentary series: STAND AND BE COUNTED with producing partners, Sidney Sherman and singer songwriter David Crosby. The program traces the history and impact of social activism through popular music and will air nationally in spring 2000. Network series credits include: THE YOUNG RIDERS, LIFE GOES ON, MAN OF A THOUSAND FACES, THE OUTSIDERS, Hallmark’s TALKING WITH T.J. and THE WINGS OF DENALI, a pilot for the WB.

Robinson’s next effort, AMARGOSA for Triple Play, is a documentary about artist and recluse Marta Becket and is due out in January of 2000.

Robinson received a Suma Cum Laude BFA in drama from the Theatre Conservatory at Adelphi University and is one of the founding members of THE JONATHAN LARSON PERFORMING ARTS FOUNDATION where he serves on the board of directors.

 

Kenneth A. Carlson -Director/Writer/Producer

Kenneth A. Carlson, a graduate of Brown University and a native of Ohio, wrote, directed and produced GO TIGERS! a feature length documentary on Ohio's winningest high school football team, the Massillon Tigers. This is a rare behind-the-scenes chronicling of their remarkable 106th season played out in a small rust-belt town that draws its identity from football. GO TIGERS! premiered in the Documentary Competition at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival where it was picked-up for distribution by IFC Films. The critically praised GO TIGERS! opened in 65 theaters in the fall of 2002. Among others, GO TIGERS! was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and a Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Documentary.

During the press junket for GO TIGERS! Carlson managed to direct, produce and film NBC's prime time, reality based show, LOST. Blindfolded and ear-plugged, he was transported some 26 hours around the globe then dropped in Outer Mongolia with a goal of making it back to the Statue of Liberty. Carlson's team of contestants completed the adventure in 18 days. LOST aired in the fall of 2002 generating strong ratings for the network.

Previously, Carlson produced AMARGOSA, an Academy Award Finalist for Best Documentary Feature. The film, which premiered at the 2000 Slamdance Film Festival is about the life of eccentric ballet dancer/artist, Marta Becket and her opera house located in remote Death Valley Junction, California. The picture has garnered a multitude of awards at major film festivals and is slated to air on the Sundance Channel in early 2002.

For Carlson's independent film company, Carlson Films, he recently wrote, directed and produced the feature film, SPECIAL DELIVERY, a romantic comedy starring Sean Young, Penny Marshall, Paul Dooley and Nell Carter. This heart-warming film was chosen to premiere as the "Opening Night Spotlight Feature" at the Sedona Film Festival and honored by opening the New York International Film Festival. SPECIAL DELIVERY is currently airing in Europe.

Carlson also produced the critically acclaimed and award-winning documentary, WILD BILL HOLLYWOOD MAVERICK, based on the life and times of legendary studio director William A. Wellman and featuring such Hollywood luminaries as Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Sidney Poitier, Martin Scorsese and Gregory Peck. It was awarded "Best Documentary of 1996" by the National Board of Review. That same year it made its US premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. "WILD BILL" was nominated for a Cable Ace Award after having its world television premiere on TNT in August of 1996. It is currently airing on American Movie Classics.

For more than four years, Carlson produced over 175 feature segments for the reality-based show, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED currently airing on The Fox Network. His credits run the gamut from producing, directing and writing film and video re-enactments to on-camera reporting for the news department. Carlson has contributed to the capture of over forty-five elusive criminals to date.

Carlson is represented by International Creative Management, Inc. and is managed by Nine Yards Entertainment. He is also a member of the Directors Guild of America.

 

William Wellman, Jr. - Actor/Writer/Producer

William Wellman Jr. has spent over 40 years working in many areas of the Entertainment Industry.

As an actor, he is credited with over 160 movies and television shows, 17 stage productions and some 200 industrial and commercial films. In 1981, he was awarded Best Actor of the Year by the Christian Film Distributors for Heartland's BROTHER ENEMY. He was nominated again in 1982 for Mark IV Pictures' THE PRODIGAL PLANET.

Some of his feature roles include: IMAGE OF THE BEAST (1982), PRIVATE FILES OF J. EDGAR HOOVER (1977), MACARTHUR (1977), THE TRIAL OF BILLY JACK (1974), IT'S ALIVE (1973), BLACK CAESAR (1972), PRIVATE NAVY OF SGT. Wellman's writing credits include 2 television specials and 9 screenplays. One of his latest screenplays, C'EST LA GUERRE, a biography of his director father's life, is in development. His list of magazine articles include FILM COMMENT, FILMS IN REVIEW, ACTION MAGAZINE, MEMORIES MAGAZINE AND DGA NEWS. He played the leading roles and co-authored the original stories for two highly successful PRODIGAL PLANET features - PRODIGAL PLANET I and II -currently in worldwide distribution.

On the production side, Wellman worked on 6 television movies and 2 television specials. He served as developer, production consultant and various producer capacities on 9 independent feature films including IT LIVES AGAIN for Warner Bros. and BILLY JACK GOES TO WASHINGTON. Wellman created and Executive Produced WILD BILL HOLLYWOOD MAVERICK, the award winning feature documentary on the life and times of his legendary father.
